Here are some of the questions we've been asked a lot. If you need to know something else, please feel free to contact us.

Where do I go and when do I show up?
On your clinic day, please come directly to the North Dallas Shared Ministries headquarters at 2875 Merrell Road in Dallas, Texas. Medical students should arrive promptly at 5:00 pm. Undergraduate students will need additional training and should arrive at 4:45. The clinic will last until 8:30 pm each week.

Do I need to be able to speak Spanish to volunteer?
No. The vast majority of the patients we serve are Spanish-speaking patients, but we will have numerous translators at the clinic to help out with communication issues. (Obviously, if you're signing up to volunteer as a translator, you need to know enough medical Spanish to be able to translate adequately.)

Do I need to have prior clinic experience to volunteer?
No. The clinic will be a place where students can get their hands dirty with a little clinical experience. We understand that most first- and many second-years don't have much experience with patient contact. This is one of the goals of the clinic: to increase student exposure to primary care settings. Required training will be provided at the clinic on the evening of your commitment.

What do I wear, and do I need to bring anything?
Please dress professionally. If you have a stethoscope, it would be a good thing to bring, but it's not required. Wear your student ID and get a nametag when you get to the clinic.

Can I leave early or come late?
No. Please understand that when you make a commitment to volunteer at the clinic, we serve our patients best by having all volunteers arrive and leave at the same time.

Where can I get more detailed information about how The Monday Clinic works?
If you would like to read the public version of the Clinic Operations Manual you are more the welcome. This is not necessary to volunteer, you will recieve adequate training on the night of your commitment.
